Common

People who hear i eat vegan have a tendency to respond in one of two ways:
- you still eat chicken/fish/seafood, right?
- how do you get all your calcium/iron/B-12?

People who mention the first need a greater understanding of the concept of "animal" and people who mention the latter don't generally consider that such a question should really be asked to everyone. The only ones i really pay attention to are the ones who mention B-12, but usually they mention it more along the lines of "Do you use vitamin capsules/nutritional yeast/enriched products to get enough B-12?"

After those questions it's on to asking about my health and energy. I try to respond in one of two ways:
- "I only have enough energy to complain of all my ailments...[insert random, lengthy complaints]"
- "I take enough drugs to make sure i stay healthy and energetic. If the vodka doesn't keep me awake and kill off all evil germs, then the shrooms won't let me realise i'm sick and tired."

Hospitals

The other night i was wandering through the UofM hospital looking for the Emergency Room when i happened upon 4 fridges. 3 were locked, one was not. I was also looking for a bottle of water, so i opened the fridge to see what was in it (figured i could leave a couple bucks if there was an unopened bottle for me). Instead of water i was presented with various containers and little vials, so i took a couple blurry pictures of the fridge.
I've often wondered how the zombie-creating virus escapes the lab in real life - apparently the movies are fairly accurate.

In case you're wondering, the lower, yellow-capped vials tasted minty and the bottles in the door tasted sour.

Showed that photo to Rex who showed it to a friend of his who is going to report this OSHA and patient confidentiality violation to the proper authorities.
